Hours: Vary - flexible - NO holiday's or weekends!
Basic Function: To work with the children at the center and perform duties as instructed by the lead teacher
-Performs related work as assigned by the lead teacher
-Assists lead teacher with routine activities, which include but are not limited to, lesson plans, nap times, meal services, bathroom needs, children's guidance, and general cleaning procedures
-Assists in maintaining a safe, healthy, and warm learning environment for the children on a daily basis
-Brings any individual concerns to the lead teacher regarding the children's progress and development
-The health, welfare, and cleanliness of each child in their room
-Take directions and instructions from the person responsible for the center
-to be flexible to the center's needs in regards to room assignments, scheduling and any other daily needs of the center
-Attends and participates in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth
-is responsible for acquiring twenty-five hours per year in continuing education
-assist with keeping current attendance and meal counts
-must attend part/teacher conferences and attend all functions which involve the children and their parents
-supervises classroom, playground, sleep room, and any other area where children are
-Must be a sensitive and mature individual who has the ability to relate well with both children on their level as well as adults on a daily basis
-Must be able to follow instructions and work cooperatively with co-workers
-Must maintain a professional appearance which is appropriate to working in a child care setting as well as following the uniform requirements
-Must meet/exceed all requirements which are required by the WI Child Care Licensing Department in order to work in a day care setting:
-Be at least 18yrs of age
-Satisfactorily completed one non-credit/credit department approved course in early childhood education OR satisfactorily completed an assistant child care teacher training program approved by the WI department of public instruction
-Physical and TB test on file
-CPR Certification
-SIDS training
-Shaken baby prevention training
