The Electrical Technician reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining equipment in the best possible running condition with minimum downtime and cost. Perform journeyman-level work in the design, installation, construction, modification, repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems. This position will work a 2, 2, 3 schedule from 5 pm to 5 am.
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plant converting equipment including electrical trouble shooting to ensure minimum down time due to equipment failure, the development and implementation of converting equipment preventive maintenance program, parts room supplies including inventory of all shop tools, maintenance parts and plant cleaning supplies, helping with the coordination and outsourcing of higher end electrical and mechanical work, soliciting vendor quotations for all outsourced mechanical/electrical needs as needed, the coordination of maintenance work order planning with production schedule/parts availability
Experienced in plant electrical distribution systems including switchgear, distribution panels, starters and drives, electric motors from fractional hp to 600 hp including servo driven motors, preventative maintenance, machine repair, and predictive maintenance.
Parts pickup as needed
Journeyman with 3-5 years' experience preferred.
Manufacturing or Paper Converting experience is preferred.
Experienced in wiring single phase and three phase motors.
Ability to program, modify and troubleshooting PLC (Allen/Bradley or Siemens)
Ability to Lead/motivate by example, exhibiting a can-do, positive attitude.
Strong communication skills.
High standards of accuracy and professionalism, with good attendance and the ability to work longer hours as needed.
