TEACHER-DAY CARE CENTER

Hours: Vary - flexible - NO holiday's or weekends!
Basic Function: Must plan, supervise, and implement programming for children ages 6weeks to 12 years, including the planning of daily activities that are develop
Responsibliliteis:
-Complete and follow through with weekly lesson plans and daily schedules that are developmentally appropriate for the specified age group the teacher is responsible for taking care of
-Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the children
-The ordered arrangement, cleanliness, appearance, decor, and learning evnironment of classroom
-Takes directions and instructions from the person responsible for the center
-To be flexible to center's needs in regards to room assignments, scheduling and any other daily needs of the center
-Attends and participates in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth
-Is responsible for acquiring twenty-five hours per year in continuing education
-Performs general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, classroom cleanup, and disinfecting of all toys and equipment, including bathrooms
-Communicates daily with children and their parents in relation to child's daily schedule and activities
-Serves meals and snack in such a way that follows all State and Federal Food Program Standards as well as promotes positive and inviting eating experiences
-Keeps current with attendence and meal counts
-Must attend parent/teacher conferences and attend to all functions which involve the children and their parents
-Supervises classroom, playground, sleep room, and other areas
-Must be a sensitive and mature individual who has the ability to relate well with both children on their level as well as adults on a daily basis
-Must be able to follow instructions and work cooperatively with co-workers
-Must maintain a professional appearance which is appropriate to working in a child care setting as well as following the uniform requirements
-Must meet/exceed all requirements which are required by the WI Child Care Licensing Department in order to work in a day care setting:
-Be at least 18yrs of age
- have completed HS or its equivalent
-At least 80 full days or 120 half days of experience as an assistant child care teacher
-Satisfactorily completed two non-credit/ credit department approved courses in early childhood edu
-Physical and TB test on file
-CPR certification
-SIDS training
-Shaken Baby prevention training
-Registry certificate
